Slightly more than one half of Hungary's landscape consists of flat to rolling plains of the Carpathian Basin: the most important plain regions include the Little Hungarian Plain in the west, and the Great Hungarian Plain in the southeast. The highest elevation above sea level on the latter is only 183 metres.

World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Budapest - Hungary Travel Guide, Tourism http://bit.ly/1e46zIc Shopping in Budapest - Hungary Budapest offers a great variety of decently priced shopping. Particularly good to buy here is clothing, antiques and jewellery. Key areas: Pest's chic Váci utca and its surrounding avenues tempt tourists with familiar high-street and designer names. Porcelain lovers should hunt down Zsolnay, V Kigyó utca 4, or Herend, I Szentháromság utca 5 - both produce some of the finest pieces in Europe. Markets: Budapest's Great Market Hall (Nagy Vásárcsarnok), IX Fovám tér, is great for bargains. This imposing three-storey structure first opened in 1897. On the ground floor are strings of paprika-like red coral necklaces, pots of pickles, goose liver and s...

Housing in Hungary can range from an antique-filled apartment in a Budapest building to a bright modern suburban house. Many homes have been renovated to Western standards, and all have double-paned windows. In the capital city, the Pest (Eastern) side of the Danube boasts a lively city center with a definite urban feel. You will find apartments, rather than private houses, here. The Buda (Western) side reaches out into the hills, where the quieter neighborhoods have lots of trees, parks and fresh air. Houses on the Buda-side also tend to feature balconies, gardens, terraces and garages. What ever you are looking for, our Move One consultants are here to find the perfect match to your specified criteria. www.platz.hu Opened in 2011, Budapest Platz is your ultimate destination for excellent food complementing your crisp Paulaner beer, exquisite wine, fine roasted coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice, at the best location in town. Sitting inside by the window of the air-conditioned 2-story restaurant, or taking in the sunshine lounging in the cozy chairs of the 100 sqm terrace, you can enjoy unsurpassable views of St. Stephen's Basilica and the buzzing piazza, minutes from Fashion Street. The interior uniquely mixes contemporary elements of an industrial design house with the vintage feel of antique treasures. The central wall, mounting over 90 colorful, warmly lit antique siphon-bottles collected from various regions of Hungary, the iron stoves in the corners, the old copper mortars, t...
This rare Italian Baroque strong box is crafted of reinforced wrought iron and is designed to be virtually indestructible. Intended to secure one's most precious valuables, the fascinating safe is enveloped in thick iron strap work that surrounds its massive walnut frame. The defining feature of large Baroque strong boxes of this caliber is a complicated locking mechanism, and this example is fitted with an exceptionally well-engineered two-way locking system. As an added security measure, one must know the precise way in which to manipulate not one, but two unique iron keys, both of which have hidden keyholes. Once inside, the walnut box is fitted with shelving that provides ample space for one's money and valuables. Very few of these "Old World" relics remain, and those that do were most...
This movies is a combination of our travel day (day 4) and first full day in Budapest (day 5). What you're looking at first is the lovely yellow metro which starts at Vorosmarty ter and heads down Andrassy ut to the Szechenyi baths. The yellow metro is the oldest underground train in continental Europe and the stations are wonderfully maintained. (Please note the circus chimes alerting riders that the next stop is approaching. We began day 5 with a trip out to the Esceri piac - a fantastic antiques/junk market that has everything from old war memorabilia to furniture to well, n*gr banks (most likely repros.) But there is lots of eye candy there - if not many people on a Friday. We also hit the Vasarcsarnok, a beautiufl food market - but also the site of the infamous peach incident for...
Nowadays Budapest is once again becoming known to visitors as much for being a mecca for shoppers -- a reputation which last held true a century ago -- as for being a country that for half of that century had been held in the ruthless grip of Communism. Whilst from the 1950's onwards there was never any shortage of basic foods, generations of locals and visitors alike were denied the finer things in life. Nowadays there are two trends discernable amongst retailers in Budapest: "big is beautiful" and "small is beautiful." Which is to say that there are now a host of huge shopping malls which have revolutionized people's approach to shopping. But perhaps surprisingly, the number of smaller outlets offering "luxury" goods and services has also mushroomed. There are now, for example, places w...

The antique market in Kolo, Warsaw Poland is the main source of antiques for many antique shops in Warsaw. It is open on Sunday morning only. Morning means about 0600 for that is the latest time when anyone who wants to get a place to display and sell his antiques has to be set up. Antique shop owners from Warsaw come early to buy before the competition. The antique market is not the flea market for Warsaw. You can find information about Poland's largest flea market in another video in our All About Poland series. You can find that among over 3000 pages of text and videos at http://www.masterpage.com.pl Come there now for more information about this antique market and Warsaw Poland in general.
We'll take a look at some antique European ceramics made at high quality but perhaps lesser known factories. We've discussed Meissen, Dresden, Villeroy & Boch, Sevres, Chantilly, Royal Copenhagen... through the years, but in this show I'll feature an exquisite vase made by Fischer J of Budapest, Hungary, an unmarked German tankard, and a Gouda art pottery vase made by PZH, and we'll compare them with comps currently offered for sale online. -Gary Check out more videos in the iAntique Archive! http://www.iantique.com/videos

https://www.expedia.com/Budapest.d179994.Destination-Travel-Guides The Hungarian capital, Budapest, is situated on the banks of the Danube in Central Europe. It’s the political, economic and cultural heart of the nation, and one of the most beautiful and livable cities on the continent. For a sweeping overview of the city head to the Buda side of the Danube and take in the views from the 19th century ramparts on Gellért Hill. Just upriver is Budapest’s oldest area, The Castle District, home to Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. Once you’ve explored the heights of Castle Hill, cross the Széchenyi Chain Bridge to the Pest side of the city and follow the riverbank upstream to Hungary’s Parliament Building. Nearby, pay your respects at the Shoes on the Danube Memorial,...
